Beginning, Middle, End

Telling a story still comes down to three basic elements: a beginning, a middle, and an end. This is the mantra I am going to keep in my head while creating content for the assignments in this class. Technologies change, attention spans shorten, and interests differ, but good story telling basically remains the same. If anything, it’s how quickly the story develops that will determine whether viewers click away or decide to see how the story ends.

I agree with you Derek that it is now very difficult to decipher through content to get what we really want. The overload of social production is definitely beneficial as well as damaging to the quality of media available on the internet. I too can’t help but keep in mind that our attention spans are getting shorter and shorter and producers are going to have to get even more clever about the way they convey information in order to maintain an audience.
